Hugo Award nominations are open

The Hugo Award nominations are now open for 2017 works. In order to nominate something, you must have been a member as of 12/31/2017. However, in order to vote, you will only have to be a member at that time.

On a completely unrelated subject, the Bobiverse trilogy is eligible for Best SF Series for 2017.

Just making conversation.

    Ha! I love it.

On another note; have you considered releasing the Bobiverse triology as a collectors’ hard cover set? I love the books and I want to show that off to all my friends and relatives in my book case.

Turns out: It’s difficult and expensive to vote

Congratulations on the nomination Dennis – thoroughly well deserved. I’m sure even Guppy is cracking a smile right now.

    1. Ahem. I haven’t been nominated yet. I have hopes, though. I believe the actual nomination list will be out in March.

Some author, I believe it was either Walter Jon Williams or Michael Swanwick (mostly because they’re the only others whose blogs I check occasionally), had a long article about how he was nominated for a Hugo for one of his very first stories, and didn’t win. Then he spent years improving, so that when he finally did win one, it meant a LOT to him. Whereas, if he’d won the first one, he felt he would have spent years desperately wondering what he was doing wrong for not winning another. He was pretty happy about how it all worked out.

I do hope you get nominated. If you win, though, what will you do for an encore?

    1. I would be happy just to be nominated.
