As of today, We Are Legion is #2 on the Goodreads list of Best Hard SF of the 21st Century. I’m unlikely to make headway against The Martian, of course.
For We Are Many and All These Worlds are on the list as well, at #20 and #23.
As a lifelong SF fan, It’s no surprise to me that you’re a prominent addition to these lists! Your first book was “Outland” which I’ve read and reread many times. The character development was refreshing and when it came time for some one to die it was done well. You’re a talented person and I’m quite pleased that you’re finding some well deserved recognition.
Dennis, congratulations! That’s so cool! NUMBER TWO!!! (Riker would be pleased.) I’m so happy you are up there with two of my other all-time favourites. It’s great to see your novels going from strength to strength.
It’s also encouraging to see that the top ten have a lot of variety in style and content. Plenty of scope for more stories …
Dennis, just wanted to drop in and say that the Bob trilogy is some of the finest sci-fi I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot. It was engaging, thoughtful, and the rare books where I’ve thought “Damnit, why didn’t *I* write that??” (that last part assumes the fantasy that I’m a talented author, have the motivation, drive, focus, courage, etc to write books at all). Anyways, thanks for the unbelievably fun reads. Absolutely loved them.
Just saw this. Really awesome. I was hooked on these from the start. I’ve gotten half my team at work to pick them up and they love it too. Again great job and thanks for sharing your creativity with all of us.
Also it looks like “For We Are Many” and “All These Worlds” are now #16 and #20. That definitely deserves a Homer “WooHoo”
And look what it’s ranked with (well above!). Revelation Space and Leviathan Wakes? I’ve read Revelation Space like 4 times since it came out, and I love Reynolds’ first four novels in that universe. The Expanse novels are written by TWO people, one of whom has been in the biz for a long time. Not to mention the others…
And I did read We Are Legion and All These Worlds 2 times each, the re-reads in anticipation of All These Worlds last year.
It’s not easy being an armchair expert, but I think the only reason Bobiverse doesn’t dominate the top three spots is your lack of a PR coach. I loved “The Martian”, but “Anthem” would have been better with the hero being a guy with no religion, than what it was. The only reason it’s on the chart is people expected more of the same, and evidently they all are beach-blanket sci-fi fans.
How do I really feel?
I think you should do interviews like Andy did, podcasts, radio interviews. Sell your talent, without selling, share yourself with “future-fans”.

Love your Bobiverse books. Will you have any fan shirts that can be purchased?
