Audible is turning up the heat

Dang it, I should have posted this on Friday.

Audible has sent out a pre-release email for For We Are Many. And the email drove FWAM to #2 on Audible (for a while, anyway).

Woo hoo!

Eagerly awaiting this next release of the Bobiverse. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book. I rarely read or re-listen to books but I loved it enough and felt compelled to give it a few listens. It really spoke to my own geeked out fantasies of space exploration and the desire to live on as an AI.

    Keep up the fantastic work.

Any news on Singularity Trap release date?

    1. I have the notes back from the editor, so more work to do. My agent guesstimates Q1 2018

      I’d never pre-ordered an audio-book before and this was a no-brainer.

Loving book 2 so far – but what’s with the changes in Ray Porter’s pronunciation (words like eridani, archimedes, and oddly enough, bobiverse?) I’m sure by the end of the audiobook I won’t even notice the new pronunciations, but right now they’re a bit jarring. Was there a reason behind this?

Can’t wait to devour the rest of the book… and then on to the long wait for book 3 😉

    1. I blush to admit I haven’t listened to the audio yet. This time around, they didn’t give me an advance copy. I know there were complaints about the pronunciation of ‘Archimedes’ in book 1, and I’m assuming that Ray corrected that to the canonical pronunciation.
As to the other items, Don’t know yet.

Ray does a great job with the narration, changes aside. I’m wondering if perhaps “eridani” was also mispronounced in book 1? 20 chapters in and that one still sounds weird to me. Another change is that AMI is now pronounced “Amy” – which I guess goes along with the whole terrible acronym thing that FAITH started…

Which way were eridani and Ami supposed to be pronounced? The way Ray does in book 1 or book 2? Love the bobiverse but the eridani pronunciation specifically is so jarring.

        1. I always assumed it was pronounced Err-ih-DAN-ee, but I looked it up and it seems it should be Err-ID-ann-ee.

AMI is an acronym, so anything’s ok. I go with AMM-ee.

It was a question on my mind as well. Didn’t take anything away from the read, was just a little confused.

Hey, I have over a thousand titles on Audible. Today, I am in Bobiverse Heaven. Make this a 12, 15 book series. There are so many ways to go. I have spent months waiting for this book. So much fun. Let it expand. Great ideas and permutations of where we would like to be. Thank You.

I will point out a minor error on the author’s part for book 2. Algae produces about 75% of the air we breathe on our planet. Not land based plants.

    1. That’s an error on the character’s part. Bob is a little light on biology. I just used that as a little bit of cheap tension. Otherwise the chapter was too ‘easy’.

Will your other books be released on Audible? I have a long daily commute and the audiobooks make it fun. I am loving your Bob books!

Thank you so much for another fantastic book. I was thoroughly lost in the Bobiverse until “end book two” then did a quick WAIT WTF! Is there any projected date for book 3? Again thank you so much!

Loved book. Read in one day. Awaiting next book more than star wars. Also love how full a character Bob/s is/are. You are my new culture novels. I would love if you could find a similarly skilled author to hand off Henry too. You own Bob so perfectly it’d be amazing to see another author immerse themselves in your universe.

I suprised me to realize it, but I agree with the more anticipation than for starwars bit. Amazing book with an amazing universe. I love the narrator too.

I think Ray has done an awesome job reading your books. Please, PLEASE do not let anyone else read anything from the Bobiverse. It must be Ray!!
