Video Interview and other stuff

Hey, I got interviewed by Keystroke Medium this morning. Live. That’s amazingly scary. But I didn’t screw it up. 🙂

Here’s the URL: https://youtu.be/9Z-dSzeDpT8

On another subject, I realized I haven’t posted up all my new book covers. So, here they are:

    I can’t wait to get out of work so I can watch this! The cover art is amazing.

    Yo Dennis, I don’t want to wait for bob book 2. I am a top 6,000 Amazon reviewer. LOL, I know, right? I was once a lot higher but only do reviews sporadically now. Anyway, if you shoot me a copy early, I’ll post a review on day 1. No guaranty it will be 5*, and I’ll note I got an advance copy in the review, but I did really like book one and there is nothing unusual about giving out advance copies to potential reviewers. As far as I know, getting some reviews boosts visibility in searches and such, so good to get some in the bag quickly. You can use redacted, which is my I don’t care who knows it secondary email account. Mobi is the best format. Cheers,

    1. Can’t do it. This isn’t self-published. The publisher has the files. In any case, my agent should be handling ARC requests.

    I’d like to know if you could give us a rundown of the reference behind the names of the other bobs…
    Bob: Original Bob
    Riker: Star Trek
    Bill: ??
    Milo: ??
    Mario: NES ?
    Linus : Linux ?
    Calvin: Calvin & Hobbes
    Goku: Dragon Ball
    etc etc…

    1. Bill and Milo are from Bloom County (it gets an offhand reference in the book). Linus is the Linux guy, although I’ve had people guess the Peanuts character, and that’s ok too. Mario is from the video game. You nailed the other ones.

      I took names from all over the place, so don’t try to stick to cartoons or computers. Neil and Herschel in book 3 are from Neil Armstrong and William Herschel, for instance.

        How about the other one from book 1…

        Luke = Star Wars
        Bender = ??
        Marvin = The Martian
        Charles = ?? Xavier ??
        Albert = ?
        Khan = Genkis
        Howard = ?? the duck ?

        i might have miss 1 or 2

        1. Bender is from Futurama. Albert is Einstein. Khan is from The Wrath of Khan, thus the joke about wanting to yell his name. Howard is from Wolowitz (Big Bang Theory). You nailed the others.

            I’m a little disappointed it’s not Marvin from hitchhikers guide.

        I would even suggest that you could add a glossary for their inspiration in the book, like as an annex at the end-book, so we could consult and know what were your inspiration for each of them, and maybe even add an ancestry genealogy-style graphic with their point of origin, like it would be nice to be able, on-the-fly, to see from whom was copied Calvin/Goku… There are so much that at some point it become confusing to remember who knows who and who came from who, therefore their reaction to each of them.

        1. There is a genealogy and cast of characters at the end of book 2. Probably not in the audible version, though. I should put it up on the website.

            That would be awesome! I do most of my reading via audio and haven’t flipped through a paper book in a while.

    Hi Dennis

    Any ETA on Singularity Trap? I keep reading your blurb and getting excited for it.

    1. We are just finalizing an agreement on the publishing thereof. Work will likely begin in March.

    Thank you for posting the high-resolution image of the cover to For We Are Many. Any chance you could do that for We Are legion?

    I loved your book and have listened to it 6 times now and am going over everything you put up trying to get my bob fix prior to the release of book two. So I am looking at the cover art for All These Worlds and and see in the background an object that looks a lot like a dyson sphere. There are also a lot of dead space ships in the foreground. Tell me are the bobs going to go on a genocidal rampage against mario’s aliens.

    1. There may be a run-in or two…

    1. No plans at the moment. I’m not adverse–just haven’t been offered anything.
